Packaging and Warehouse Supervisor

We are hiring a Supervisor for our Putnam location! The Supervisor will be responsible for packaging and warehouse operations.

Function

  • Responsible for packaging and warehouse operations
  • Responsible for training of subordinates, safety and regulatory requirements within areas of responsibility
  • Responsible for directing and supporting packaging, bulk receiving and warehouse staff
  • Service to internal customers (Product groups, trucking, branch outlets), including general inventory storage, plant security, rail/yard operations and tool and equipment control
  • Manage Inventory (inbound) for select customers

Site Operations Management

  • Support the development and implement of production, bulk receiving & shipping procedures and processes
  • Daily management of Putnam packaging and warehouse operations re: organizing product flow both in/out of terminal
  • Supporting the team for hands on support as required
  • Support Operations Manager with hiring, dismissing or discipline of employees reporting to this position
  • Inform / Report repairs and maintenance as required within the guidelines set out by the Company operating budget
  • Daily Shift Reports – Updating Admin and Associates
  • Establish goals and standards of performance of each subordinate
  • Direct the movement of inventory/product between facilities as required by capacity constraints, inventory levels and/or customer requirements
  • Ensure professional service of contracts
  • Monitors inventory control system Support cycle counts as requested and annual year end count
  • Approve hours and schedule time off within our Payworks system
  • Manage a portion of the railcars inbound and realising system / structure

Financial Responsibility

  • Communicate required purchases, confirm packing slips for purchased consumables
  • Monitor and communicate expected run rates with your subordinates, encouraging the importance of achieving the expected run rates

Education, Experience and/or Training Requirements

  • 3+ years in Management Position
  • 2+ years in Agriculture or related industry
  • Knowledge in all Office Software, particularly Excel

Working Conditions
