Human Resources Administrator

Sylvite is hiring an HR Administrator to work out of our Head Office, supporting all divisions.

Payroll Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for payroll, assisting as needed to ensure timely and accurate processing for all employees
  • Assist with payroll and benefit accounts and statements (general payroll and Receiver General remittances, remittances, garnishments, WCB remittances, Extended Health/Dental, Life and LTD Insurance)
  • First point of contact regarding payroll and benefits inquiries by employees
  • Prepares Records of Employment and other required documentation
  • Assist with year-end reconciliations, preparation of T4, W2 and related summaries
  • Respond to Payroll and Benefit inquiries in a timely manner
  • Monitor accurate employee records in Payroll/ HRIS systems, scan and file all Payroll and HR related documents
  • Working with the Payroll Manager with the creation and implementation of payroll policies and procedures; review related processes for efficiency and process improvement opportunities.
  • Provide input on payroll policies and procedures; review related processes for efficiency and process improvement opportunities.
  • Review Human Resources and Payroll to ensure that all salaries and wages are paid accurately and in alignment with applicable legislation.
  • Maintain, track and provide reports on all vacation, attendance and sick leave hours.

Benefits Responsibilities

  • Administer the policies and procedures of the Benefit programs, including working closely with the employee on set up and other activities
  • Ensure accord record keeping of benefit related items
  • Ensure the programs, processes and systems are continuously updated to ensure compliance
  • Assist with related audits and legislative filings and reporting

Human Resources Responsibilities

  • Set up in the payroll systems all new employee on-boarding and orientation, including arranging employment pre-requisites.
  • Assist with recruitment of hourly and administrative employees through ad placement, interviewing, selection, background checks, etc. in conjunction with the hiring manager
  • Develop and execute internal Job Postings, as required
  • Maintain and update HR files, including e-files and data maintained within Human Resources information System
  • Other HR duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 1 year Human Resources experience
  • Current enrollment in Payroll Compliance Practitioner program preferred.
  • Knowledge of US Payroll process an asset
  • Experience in transportation or agriculture is an asset
