Job Responsibilities

As a Customer Application Equipment Operator at Sylvite, you will play a vital role in our operations by ensuring the efficient use of machinery and equipment. This position is essential to maintaining our commitment to quality and service excellence within the agricultural supply industry.

Equipment Maintenance:

• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
• Work in a safe manner and recognize unsafe situations, take appropriate action to ensure safety of self and others in building.

Customs Operations:

• Perform fertilizer applications via Dry application Equipment
• Provide high quality, intricate and detailed custom application services for growers
• Communicate with support vehicles and office staff
• Perform general maintenance where needed (equipment, spreaders, etc.)

Company Knowledge and Mutual Support:

• Become knowledgeable about all Sylvite divisions and the products and services they provide
• Documentation of all processes and tasks for which a function is responsible
• Demonstrate a high degree of service to and collaboration with other business units
• Provide support to other department members maintaining a sense of team
• Provide positive feedback to others, when possible, coach others for success
• Recommend opportunities for improvement of processes and systems as a result of the function performed or based on observations
• Must contribute to a safe, clean and comfortable work environment that complements the Occupational Health and Safety Act Regulations
• Recommend opportunities for reducing costs

Education/Experience

• Good understanding of agricultural practices and farm equipment
• Team player, good communication skills, highly organized, dependable
• Willing to work long hours during the peak season
• Clean driving record, ‘G’ license or ability to obtain
• Forklift operation is an asset
• DZ or AZ license is an asset
