Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Development
- Present, promote, and sell Sylvite products and services to existing and prospective customers.
- Develop tailored crop input plans, including soil sampling, fertilizer and crop protection recommendations, and in-field support.
- Provide accurate and competitive quotes for branch manager approval, balancing customer needs with margin goals.
- Achieve sales targets in line with branch budgets and business objectives.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular communication, cold calling, and proactive service.
- Resolve customer concerns quickly to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
- Collaborate with colleagues and other branches to deliver comprehensive customer solutions.
Planning, Reporting & Financial Support
- Complete sales planning and reporting, including effective CRM use.
- Support branch budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Monitor and manage expenses within approved budgets.
Industry & Professional Development
- Stay current through ongoing learning in agronomy, seed, crop protection, and sales.
- Represent Sylvite at industry associations, events, and conferences to expand networks and partnerships.
- Uphold company policies, procedures, and business ethics standards.
Branch Operations & Support
- Contribute to branch activities that support excellent customer service.
- Assist with administrative tasks connected to sales and customer service.
- Work collaboratively with sales team members across divisions.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a sales role, with at least 3 years in agriculture or a related industry.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in agriculture, business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Class G Driver’s Licence (preferred).
- Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze market factors, prepare budgets, and forecast results.
- Effective communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven decision-making, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Professional presence with the ability to succeed in a collaborative, team-driven environment.
