Dock Worker

Join the Sylvite team! We are currently looking for a part-time Dock Worker to join our Sylvite Transportation team at our Ohio terminal.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced warehouse environment, takes pride in working safely and efficiently, and is comfortable handling freight and operating material-handling equipment.

About the Role

As a Dock Worker, you will support the day-to-day operations of our Ohio terminal, helping ensure freight is safely and efficiently received, handled, organized and prepared for shipment. This is a part-time position with shifts starting at 5:30 a.m. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Load and unload products from truck trailers using forklifts, pump trucks and other assigned equipment.
• Tag and measure freight as required.
• Manually move product from trailers to pallets when required.
• Load orders according to manifest sheets.
• Maintain and organize warehouse inventory.
• Print dock tags and assist with general administrative tasks as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
• Follow established safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
• Assist other members of the operations team as directed by the supervisor.

Education and Experience

• 1 to 2 years of materials-handling or warehouse experience preferred.
• Forklift certification is preferred but not required. Training is available.
• Ability to safely lift up to 30 lbs. and perform physical tasks including carrying, bending, walking and operating equipment.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to follow instructions, organize workload and meet deadlines.
• Dependable team player who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
