To celebrate the launch of our new website, we held a contest to share the excitement with our community. As an Ontario-grown, independent business, community is very important to us. That’s why we decided that the prize would be a donation of $500 to a charity of the winner’s choice, in the winner’s name. How great is that!?
We are happy to announce that Mitch Morawetz was the lucky winner of this contest! Mitch chose to donate his winnings to the Knox Christian School Society.
Here’s what Mitch told us about why he selected the Knox Christian School Society:
“This organization is close to our hearts for many reasons. The school is a wonderful, long standing establishment in the town of Bowmanville, ON, and has been serving the town and the surrounding towns, villages and rural area for decades. Many of our friends, neighbours and acquaintances either attended the school in their youth or have chosen to send their children to the school. Last fall, we enrolled our son in the kindergarten program at Knox and this fall our eldest daughter will begin JK there. The school is an active participant in the community and has a reputation for quality and excellence in staff and in all of its activities and functions. Family involvement and volunteerism are a focus at the school, which is evident in the success of the school and its students. I should add that the administration and teachers have done a marvellous job navigating the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic thus far.”
Sylvite is thrilled that this donation will be going to an organization that is helping the local Bowmanville community. We would like to give a warm thank you to all of those who entered the contest, and we hope that the Knox Christian School Society can positively benefit from this donation!
