Job Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare month-end and year end journal entries
  • Prepare financial statements for assigned Business Units
  • Update month-end working papers and supporting schedules
  • Manage fixed asset accounting and leases
  • Prepare data required for monthly financial statement consolidation
  • Prepare analysis of business unit financial statements and variance to budget and prior years
  • Ad hoc analysis as requested by other members of financial operations team and business units
  • Compile reports necessary to comply with provincial laws and federal regulations
  • Prepare working papers required for annual external, tax & bank audits
  • Support the preparation of annual budgets
  • Participate in project-based work identified by the finance operations team
  • Identify financial reporting issues and support the execution of solutions for the Director of Financial Operations

Business Operations Reporting and Analysis:

  • Manage the compilation and maintenance of data required for forecasts.
  • Manage periodic inventory counts and reconciliations
  • Identify areas for improving processes and suggest alternative solutions
  • Maintain accounting procedures manual with the most current documentation of changes

Education/ Experience:

  • Professional Accounting Designation completed
  • 5+ years accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of Accounting Systems
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office
